Election & Budget Meeting
Dear Squadron Members,
more formal notice will follow in due course but members may wish to mark their calendars for this year’s Election & Budget Meeting. It will convene in Saraguay House at 6 PM on Tuesday, 29 October and all members are welcome to attend (note that it will be on a Tuesday this year because the normal Thursday date happens to be Halloween and members with young children may not be available to attend that evening).
For the information of our newer members (and as a reminder for more senior members given that this revised annual meeting arrangement, now featuring an Election & Budget Meeting in October followed by an Annual General Meeting after the holiday season, was only instituted in 2023), the Election & Budget meeting is where the membership gathers for three principal purposes:
- to elect the 2025 Board of Management (a Commodore, six Vice Commodores and six Members at Large who take up their positions at the AGM in early 2025);
- to receive a presentation on the club’s financial performance during the past fiscal year; and
- to approve the budget and capital expenditure plan for the next fiscal year, which begins on 1 November.
Governance of our club involves all members so it is hoped you will have the time to join the meeting on 29 October.
Sincerely,
Capt(N) Stuart Andrews RCN (Ret)
Club Secretary
